We all give our favorite things pet names, and breasts are no exception for men. There’s no question about it. Men love breasts. But the real question is, “Why?” What is the obsession with breasts? What makes them so special that men obsess over them, stare at them, fondle them, and come up with lots of cutesy, and sometimes offensive, little nicknames for them?

Well, if you want an honest answer to such a question, you must go to the source. Here are confessions by men about why they are so obsessed with breasts.

Mommy

Oh yes, we’re going there. This makes some men uncomfortable, but yes, for some men, breasts remind them of their nurturing mothers who cared for them, hugged them, snuggled them, and kept them safe as children. Oh, and did we mention breastfeeding?

This kind of reminds us of the song lyrics, “Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow…”

Procreation

So we brought up breastfeeding above, and before breastfeeding comes a baby, and before a baby comes, well… Okay, so the list is long here. But if you go way back to the beginning, it starts with boy meets girl, boy likes girl’s boobies, and things progress from there. The fact is, “Be fruitful and multiply,” isn’t just in the Bible. It’s in our DNA. Men are chemically drawn to women that seem like healthy, fertile women. What do breasts have to do with fertility? Absolutely nothing, but men tie it to a woman’s ability to nurse a baby, so, they really like boobies.

Arousal

For some men, the obsession with breasts comes more from a conscious place in their minds, instead of a subconscious one like those above. Any man who has ever bedded a woman knows that fondling her breasts gets her going. There’s something about fondling and nibbling on breasts that drives women crazy during sex, and so those men, from experience, know that the breasts are their ticket to an aroused woman.

Men are Visual Creatures

A woman can fantasize all day long and become aroused simply by thinking or reading something sexy. However, for men, it’s all in the eye of the beholder. Men must be able to see something arousing in order to feel aroused. Breasts are the most sexual part of a woman, besides her genitalia. The difference is that men can clearly see breasts on a daily basis, seductively covered up by thin layers of cloth just begging to be removed.

Marketing

Ah, yes. We brought Freud into this one already when we decided to talk about your mothers, so let’s go ahead and bring in the media as well. They’re always good scapegoats, right? The truth is, every boy and man is bombarded with images of breasts and cleavage from a very young age. Billboards, magazine covers, commercials, television shows, movies… All of these marketing techniques are designed to show you just enough boob with the model or actress in the most seductive position possible, beckoning the viewer to “come hither”. No wonder men become obsessed with breasts!
