TO LUBE OR NOT TO LUBE!

Posted by: admin   in Sex Toys

With so many products on the market what ones do you buy and what is the difference?

There are 2 main types of lubes: Water-based and Silicone Lube.

Water-based lubes are the popular. Traditionally these lubricants are recommended with condoms and won’t harm rubber or silicon sex toys. The main complaints with these lubes are they dry up too quickly and some times feel a bit sticky. The reason they dry up is because your body absorbs water. Re application may be needed during foreplay or intercourse.

If you are prone to getting yeast infection you may want to be careful when using these water-based products. Some of them contain Glycerin- glycerin is a kind of sugar… which can cause microbe growth and upset the pH of the vagina. Look for sugar-free flavored lubes, or Glycerin free and you should be fine. The clean up of toys and yourself is much easier, because of it being water-based.

Silicone Based Lubricants are great for any type of foreplay, sex play, also don’t forget about using it for great massages. This type of lubricant doesn’t get tacky; most of them are hypo-allergenic, paraben-free and glycerin-free. These lubes are not water-soluble and should not be used with Silicone adult toys! If you use silicone lube on a silicone toy, it can break down the outer material over time. If you sex toy is not silicone then you can use this product all night. Won’t harm metal or latex toys!! They are safe for any type of condoms; most condoms are pre-packaged with a silicone lube already. Silicone lube does not dry-up or evaporate, because there’s no water in it. It feels like oil but doesn’t contain oil. You should never use any type of oil based lubricant with toys that contain silicone, thermoplastic rubber, or latex condoms. Silicone lubes can use it in water or shower; this is great for your water-proof vibrators or dildos that aren’t silicone. You can purchase lubes with different scents. The clean up easy, just soap and water.

I hope this has helped you understand the use of lubricants a little better. What I recommend it that you purchase a trial size or 2oz bottle so you can see if you like it. There nothing worst than buying something in a large quantity and find out later you don’t like it. This may be a little more costly in the beginning, but you will find what works best for you and with which toy works better with the lube. Lubricants come in different textures and scents. Some lubes are very thin to extremely thick like jelly. Usually the thicker lubes are easier for anal play or with sex toys; this keeps the toys in place a bit better. While the thinner lubes are usually used to enhance your personal lubrication and it doesn’t feel like you are using lubrication.
